Department of Chemistry Welcomes You

The department of chemistry was established with the inception of the college in 1967, with prime intention of providing higher education to economically and educationally backward rural students. The department has been the main component of science faculty. With the erstwhile model, chemistry was taught both as major and minor subject for undergraduate students. As per the revised curriculum of the university, three subjects of equal importance was introduced in the academic year 1991-92. Chemistry is one of the optional subjects. Chemistry is common subject for the CBZ and PCM combinations.

Department began with four students opting chemistry as major subject. Shree S. R. Panchal was the first to join the department and laid foundation. Shree S. B. Bisanal, Shree S. B. Biradar, Shree G. B. Savalagimath, Shree B. G. Surpur, Shree R. P. Kathari have served the department to grow to its fullest. Currently 260 students are studying chemistry as an optional subject in including B.Sc. I, II and III.

OBJECTIVE

To instill the scientific temper in the students, with emphasis on equipping them with the required skills in the field of chemistry to meet the requirements of the industry, education and chemical society as a whole.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

To establish an active environment for the students to aspire and excel in the field of chemistry as a career.
To make the students exposed to the global achievements in the area of chemistry which solved the problems of human life.
To prepare the students to be fellow partners in achieving “Atmanirbhar Bharat” in the area of chemistry.
