ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

For B.A. :
A student who has passed two years pre-university course (10+2) of the Pre-university Board or any other courses considered as equivalent in the state of Karnataka shall be eligible to get admission for B.A. degree course.
For B.Sc. :
A student who has passed two years pre-university course (10+2) of the Pre-university Board in the state of Karnataka, consisting of at least two science subjects as optionals or H.S.S.E/ C.B.S.E/ as equivalent there to by the Rani Channamma University Belagavi shall be eligible to get admission for B.Sc. degree course.

For B.Com. :
A student who has passed two years pre-university course (10+2) of the Pre-university Board or any other courses considered as equivalent in the state of Karnataka shall be eligible to get admission for B.COM. degree course.

Semester System for undergraduate students has been introduced during the academic year 2004-05 to develop students’ all round personality; physical, mental, moral and spiritual.

The college offers three programmes at the undergraduate level. They are:
B.A. semester with Five subject combinations; six semesters.
B.Sc. semesters with two subject combinations; six semesters.
B.com. with six semesters

BACHELOR OF ARTS :

In June 1967, PU I and B.A.I classes were opened. During 1968, B.A. II classes were commenced with Kannada, Sociology, Economics and Mathematics as major subjects. The college became full fledged from the academic year 1969. Interestingly, the college attracted a large number of students in the very of its inception.

During the academic year 1991-92, the system of three subjects of equal importance was introduced by Karnataka University Dharwad. The Semester system has been introduced during the year 2005-06. Rani Channamma University Belagavi was established in 2010-11. Now the course has grown considerably in dimension as well as in direction and in both quantum and quality through these years.

Subject of study : Subjects of study shall comprise of Group-I, Group- II and Group- III.
Group I-The candidate may opt any one of the languages given below along with English as the compulsory subject.

  • Group II- ( For all six semesters). The students may opt any one of the following subject combinations.

Group III (For semesters I to IV only) the students have to study the following compulsory subjects in each semesters.

Indian Constitution (semester I)
Human Rights and Environmental Science (semester II)
Personality Development and Communication Skills (semester III)
Computer Applications (semester IV)

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE :

In June 1967, PU I and B.Sc. I Classes were opened. During 1968, B.Sc. II Classes were commenced with chemistry and mathematics as major subjects. The college became full fledged from the academic year 1969 with addition of botany as major subject.

In the very first year college, the well equipped laboratories were set up well in time to meet the needs of students. The course has earned fame not only for its excellent academic standards and discipline of the students but also for its developmental activities. We feel proud to say that the course has produced many number of rank students. All round development of students is aimed at with emphasis on the projects, practical trainings, seminars, campaigns, science exhibitions work shops and Fair.

Group I- The students may opt any one of the languages given below along with English as the compulsory subject.

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE :

The course was commenced in the academic year 1988-89 with PUC I class. Then B.Com I class was commenced in the academic year 1990-91. The course offers highly enterprising undergraduate programmes leading to B.Com degree. The course has registered speedy progress. In a very short span of its existence, it has earned name and fame. The academic activities are functioning in a disciplined way. The course gives thrust and encourages students to demonstrate creative talents, based on realistic approaches. An all round development of students is aimed at with emphasis on the innovative ideas and creative thinking.

The college is now permanently affiliated to Rani Channamma University Belagavi and is considered under section 2(f) and 12(b) UGC act.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE STUDENTS :

Students from outside Karnataka state seeking admission to B.A/ B.Sc./ B.Com. semester I should submit eligibility certificate from Rani Channamma University Belagavi (original and two photo copies attested)

The medium of instruction and examination shall be in English and Kannada for B.A./ B.Com. and only in English for B.Sc.
